Dawson On A Drunk

Well, Dawson City is trying to live up to it's past in more than revival of old buildings and wooden sidewalks.   This weekend there's a big music festival going on, and lots of drunks have used that as an excuse to drink excessively.    I got very little sleep last night.   


 Dawson this morning is an 
attractive frontier town, but most of the towns people I spoke with complained about the noise keeping them awake until 4:30 a.m. too.  Time to leave this town.
Before I left, I made 2 quick stops:  First to novelist Jack London's cabin (above right with the meat cache) and then to poet Robert Service's cabin.   London is famous for - among others - "The Call Of The Wild".   Service for his poem "The Cremation of Sam McGee".
